The handlebar is one of the most important parts of your pro scooter. Choosing the right size and compatibility will improve comfort, control, and overall riding performance.
This guide explains handlebar height, width, compatibility, materials, and the most common compression systems.
As a general rule, the top of your handlebar should sit somewhere between your hips and belly button when standing on your scooter. This provides a comfortable riding position and good control.
| Rider Height | Recommended Bar Height |
| 120 - 140 cm | 480 - 530 mm |
| 140 - 155 cm | 530 - 580 mm |
| 155 - 170 cm | 580 - 660 mm |
| 170 cm+ | 660 mm+ |
Please note: These recommendations are guidelines only. Some riders prefer taller handlebars for comfort and stability, while others choose lower handlebars for easier tricks and faster bar spins.
The width of your handlebar affects how your scooter feels while riding.
The right width ultimately comes down to personal preference and riding style.
Before purchasing a new handlebar, it is important to make sure it is compatible with your scooter setup.
Always check the following:
If these components are not compatible, the handlebar may not fit correctly.
The compression system connects the handlebar, fork, and clamp together. Different handlebars are designed to work with different compression systems.
IHC (Internal Hidden Compression) is commonly found on complete pro scooters and beginner to intermediate setups.
HIC (Hidden Internal Compression) is a strong and reliable system often used by intermediate and advanced riders.
SCS (Standard Compression System) is one of the strongest and most widely used compression systems in pro scootering.
Scooter handlebars are available in two common outer diameters:
Your handlebar diameter must match the clamp and compression system on your scooter.
Many steel and titanium handlebars can be cut down to a preferred height or width. Always check the manufacturer's recommendations before making modifications.
Taller handlebars generally provide more comfort and control, while shorter handlebars can feel lighter and make technical tricks easier.
A handlebar that is too wide may feel less responsive and make certain tricks more difficult. Many riders trim the width to match their preference.
